HOT GLASS STUDIO: RENTING CONDITIONS

We rent out our hot-glass studio to advanced and experienced glass artists who wish to create their own work in glassblowing and sandcasting.
If necessary, we provide service to internationally operating artists, which ranges from giving technical assistance in the studio to transporting and placing the works of art. On request, we can also make hotel arrangements in Amsterdam.

EQUIPMENT AT HOT GLASS STUDIO (70 SQ.M.)
- appr. 100 kg potfurnace (kg/day);
  • Ø 45 cm glory hole and Ø 25 cm glory hole

  • kiln for colours

  • three annealers (LxWxH): 1) 120 x 80x 80 cm, 2) 110x75x75, 3) 70 x 70 x 80 cm

  • three benches;

  • blowpipes, punty and ball irons, pipewarmer, two torches and one torch propane/oxygen, tweezer, scissors, wooden blocks and moulds, ladles and castingsand

  • cold-working facilities such as several grinding and polishing machines, drills, saws, a flat-bedgrinder and a sandblasting area;


GLASS
Our glass is lead-free, long working soda glass and compatible with Kugler colours. A basic stock of colour rods, granulates and powders is present.

MAXIMUM CAPACITY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
The hot-glass studio offers space to one team of 1 to 3 people or two teams of 1 to 2 people. It is possible to share the hot-glass studio with another glass artist, in consultation with the owner.
Technical assistance is available at an hourly rate.

PRICES HOT GLASS STUDIO
1-day price of renting the hot-glass studio: € 500
This is including one overnight-annealing (appr. 11 hours); longer annealing available at extra charge.

Technical assistance is given at a rate of € 50.00 per hour.

If you rent the hot-glass studio for 10 days within a period of 12 consecutive months, the 11th day is free of renting charge.

(All prices do not include VAT. The prices are subject to change.)

CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT
Rental times must be booked in advance. Rental rates are due upon receipt of the invoice and must be paid in advance.

CANCELLATION
Cancellation is only accepted if made in writing. If you cancel your booking 4 weeks in advance, we will refund the prepaid rentals.

RESPONSIBILITY
Van Tetterode accepts no responsibility in case of a powercut or fault caused by the energy suppliers

LOCATION
Van Tetterode is located 15 minutes away from Schiphol Airport. Our studio is located on the Amsterdam ring-road (A10) and is also close to Amsterdam Sloterdijk train station. If you wish to be collected from the train station on your first arrival, please tell us when you make your booking. There are sufficient (free) parking spaces at the studio.

WORKING HOURS
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ; weekend-days on request.
